What the code allows

1. 01

   70 units an acre

   Housing Overlays on commercial and industrial land allow 20 to 70 units an acre. HO-6 mixed use with ground-floor retail goes to 85 feet.

2. 02

   30 units an acre in R-4

   R-4 allows 30 units an acre on half-acre lots, 25 on smaller ones, four stories. R-3 stops at 17 units and three stories.

3. 03

   1.5 spaces in the overlays

   Overlay studios park one, one and two bedrooms 1.5, plus a quarter guest space per unit. In R-3 and R-4, anything above a studio parks two, plus half a guest space.
